General Discussion / What canvas to use?
« Last post by Beatlemarta on April 04, 2020, 03:50:40 AM »
Hello!!
Thanks SO MUCH for this incredible site!
I converted an image to pattern, and I said I wanted it in 60x40 Cms. What thread count canvas do I use so that the image comes out in those exact dimensions? I never get it right. ehehehe. I'm afraid I'll buy 75 cms of canvas and only half the image will fit in.
Thanks so much!!
Much love from Portugal
Marta

General Discussion / Dithering
« Last post by 1hill12 on March 20, 2020, 10:16:39 PM »
Hey, thanks so much for this awesome site.
The changes with the max colors make a big difference.
I was wondering if the ability to dither the image might be an option in the near future.
I have many pictures that would need dithering in order to look similar to the original.
Thank you.  :)

Hi Eila,

I don't see any pictures or pattern attached so it is difficult to make a judgement about this issue.

best regards,

Last week I bought a lot of embroidery yarn and started to make a photo of my sister before her van, there are a lot of grey colours in it and looking at the pattern it does not vary much.
I am really disappointed by the pattern and the lack of  colours and hesitate to go on, but I have bought abt 100 strings of yarn.
Anyone experience this also? I put two pictures with. Hope you understand, english is not my language.

General Discussion / Re: Stitches per inch

Hi Sharyn,

Thanks for using Pic2Pat.

The number of stitches per inch is only used in calculating the number of stitches for the width and height of a pattern and to calculate the number of skeins needed per color. The resulting pattern always divides the stitches into blocks of ten.

Greetings,

General Discussion / Stitches per inch
« Last post by Sharyn on March 03, 2020, 11:37:45 PM »
Each time I create a cross stitch pattern using different number of stitches per inch, the resulting graph show 10 stitches per inch.
Am I doing something wrong?

I want to use a 14 stitches to the inch tapestry canvas and I am having trouble making the pattern fit the canvas.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Sharyn

The current process of color conversion uses fixed settings to match colors in a picture to floss colors. These settings were determined using a set with several types of pictures. But for some pictures, the color balance of brightness may not exactly match the original.

The common way people adjust settings like balance, brightness and saturation is with external photo edit programs. You can re-upload a picture multiple times with multiple settings and select the one which best matches your expectations.
